Default Are these Harris Collection auctions a fraud????

Posted By: jeff lichtman

I'm about to bid on these two auctions on ebay for Harris Collection T206s; yet despite the fact that these cards look totally legit and the seller has perfect feedback, neither card was found on the PSA pop report for the Harris Collection...and neither PSA number listed on the card came up on the cert verifictation section on the PSA cite...what is up?

Seller's response:

Hello: That's news to me. I never checked. The cards are original from the sportscardsplus auction and I guarantee them to be original and untouched from the auction. I can send you the auction book if you win the card and you can see the numbers match and the cards are the same. Has to be a problem on PSA's end...The cards are the exact cards from the auction and cannot be beat in quality.
Charlie

Hi: Just wanted to add that the Harris collection was sold thru sportscardsplus and the auction catalog has every card pictured...you can see the numbers match and they are the same cards. PSA screwed up somehow...its not these cards...they are perfect and directly from the auction

Those cards are from my auction. If they are not listed in PSA's registry it's their problem. The cards are directly from the sportscardsplus auction and the winner can have the auction catalog that has all the cards pictured and numbers match.

I'm by far no expert on PSA cards, but I've found that PSA/DNA's records were commonly not up to date. In one case, I bought items from a universally known hobby figure who hired PSA/DNA to authenticte the items (with LOAs and stickers) and the numbers weren't listed online.

1st clue- SOld through Sports card plus
2nd clue- They are graded by PSA

Just my 2 cents.

I was just kidding on the cards. Just an opportunity for me to bash on sport card plus for the crappy t206 set they sold me which has about 160 damaged/trimmed cards that I still haven't sold. As for PSA I have seen too many holdered t206s that are obviously short. Good luck on those beauties!

if a card on ebay were trimmed or not? Have an ebay rule (not BLOODY likely!) that the "original" picture scan in the center of auction page had to be EXCACTLY the same size as the card (with capability of being supersized, of course). I have no idea how this could be enforced.

It would actuallty be nice for catalogue auctions and all on-line auctions as well (with the cataloguews, this would often involve making two hard scans of the same card).

If only one scan is being offered, it's still preferable to have a huge one, though, and I imagine only one scan is usually offered.
