Default March Pick Ups

I bought this Walter Johnson 1908 postcard in the Legendary auction last night. I thought it was a special piece. I like the idea of the Big Train sitting down and writing a postcard to his friend after a win. It was only a few months into his second big league season. Signed Walter J.

Leon, how do I make the picture bigger? It's big enough everywhere except when uploaded to here. Thanks.

I'm not sure who your host is but sometimes I'll double click the photo in Photobucket, which makes it larger, and I'll save the zoomed in photo rather than the original image.

Default Whitey Ford, Sandy Koufax balls

I picked these up in an auction off ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Whitey-Ford-...vip=true&rt=nc

The coa is from Michael Brazil and Sports Stuff, I hope they are real.

I also picked up a nice Mike Schmidt with no coa.

Default March Pickups

Picked this one up a few weeks back and got it back from the framer yesterday...

Cut piece of Paper signed by Mark Roth: The New York Scribe who was credited with naming the Yankees (first used in print in 1904 & later stuck in 1913)... Years later, Roth was hired as the Yanks travelling secretary by Jacob Ruppert and held the post into the Dimaggio years... I also read in a recently published Yankees book that Hotel Concierges would frequently mix up Roth & Ruth's room reservations while on the road... Mark often found his key leading him to a penthouse suite, which the Babe didn't seem to mind because he never slept!!!

I found the oddly shaped photo of the 1929 Yankees with Roth second in from the left on the second row (Gehrig has arm around Roth)

Far from a yankees fan, but happy to pick this one up given its baseball history

Picked this up from a board member. It has changed hands a few times in the last few months. I can assure you it won't be changing hands again for quite some time. I absolutely love it!

Lelands refunded me and I bought the Walter instead. But only after a great exchange with Hank Thomas. I appreciate his help.

Is that an imprint of a cross on the right side of the check?

Postcard mailed by Harrison ‘Harry’ Glancy from the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. He won a gold medal in swimming at the 1924 Olympics in Paris. He worked as a swimming judge at 3 Olympics. This may be what he was doing in Helsinski

Postcard mailed from the 1936 Olympics in Berlin by László Hódi of Hungary. He competed in both diving events at the 1936 Olympics.
