Sporting News Baseball Guide is ....Great!
This year's baseball guides are out earlier than usual, and the Sporting News, in my opinion, is better than ever.
And a yet-to-be-convicted forum member has a prominent ad on the second page:

I buy two copies of Who's Who in Baseball every year- one for me and one for a friend. I think it should be out pretty soon.

Yep, I give it the thumbs-up...been travelling the last few weeks for work, spent some quality seatback time with the SN BB guide.

They actually did not publish this one year - I think it was 2012. I was very upset and called them - they told me that if enough people complained they might publish it I don't normally use text-speak, but WTF !?!?!?
Anyway, they are back and as usual, I compared all the baseball yearbooks I could find, and this was again my favorite. I also wanted the 'Baseball America Super Register 2014', but it was something like $90, so I ordered the 2013 version for $5 from a used book store. Another must-have is the 'Baseball America Hall of Fame' book - it has full ML stats and a full-age facing photo of each player, along with relevant facts, text, awards, etc. There is a reasonably-priced 2014 version, but 2013 if around $5 used.
