Mark Murphy (The Baseball Card Kid) put out a book on unopened wax/cello packs that was pretty concise. It may serve some of your purposes. His website used to be www.bbckid.com - but don't know if that's still valid. He does advertise in SCD just about every week. Hope it helps.
