Default Legit Vintage Packs

Anyone big into old vintage packs? They rarely pop up for sale anymore so is anyone suspicious of a seller having multiple packs for sale online right now? This seller had 10 end last week also. Do they look resealed to anyone else?

From the listings description:

"Since I am not the original owner of the packs I cannot guarantee that the packs were not tampered with. You have to make that decision by looking at the pictures posted. "

Based on the seller's declaration in the listing, he is not very confident if what he is offering is either unopened or tampered with or not.

"Since I am not the original owner of the packs I cannot guarantee that the packs were not tampered with. You have to make that decision by looking at the pictures posted."

This sentence was written in a language called "scammer". When translated into a more honest lingo it comes out to, "The pack has been resealed, I take no responsibility."

Edited to add: You beat me to it!

Default Wax packs

Some bidders believe they are the real thing, a couple bids have gone over $100.

Looks to me like one bidder and a shill, lol.

I watch a lot of exhibit and m101 auctions and the amount that is bid on fakes is off the charts and anyone who uses that as their gauge for authenticity is nuts.

By the method I was taught to spot resealed packs most of those look like they're possibly good. One of the 65s and the 69 don't. Of course I learned it a long time ago and resealers have probably gotten better.

I get the likeliness of the disclaimer indicating they're all bad, but it's a fine line between that and just an honest disclosure.

If you bought a pack from someone years after it was issued could you say for sure it hadn't been tampered with? And if not how would you disclose this without sounding like a scammer?

Backing it up is the way to go. But that opens you up to people opening the pack and saying it was resealed if they didn't like what they got, leaving you with a wrapper and some random cards that are probably off center commons. That's a pretty big risk for someone who isn't a full time dealer.

Not easy is it?

Sometimes you do get lucky. I bought a sealed 62 wax that came back graded an 8. Only paid $160 so I think I got a good deal.

I would like to see a picture of that. Did you get it on eBay?

I agree. Would love to see that. Just bought an 62 wax on ebay and I'm counting on it coming back as resealed but if it doesn't would be great.
