No good.

You can't buy a decent cut signature for $750; they go for three times that.

while i agree David that this is too cheap,

some people do not know the value of a signed piece, it is from a coin dealer after all. How many of them are experts in 1920-30's signed photos. Could be just a good deal.

The "a" in Babe and the "h" in Ruth are the dead giveaways to me in this sig. Def not good.

I didn't conclude it's bad because of the price (although I do see how, based on my post, you might think that); it's bad because it wasn't Ruth that wrote it.

And make no mistake: This guy's a professional coin dealer. He makes money by buying coins from people who don't know what they're worth. He's not going to sell anything himself without researching values.

at least the motorcycle they are selling looks really good, nice paint, a little over priced.

First, I'm not an expert. That said, I do know that Ruth was very much proud of his signature and it shows in authentic sigs of his. This one is just way too sloppy to be real.

The "abe" is not tight enough and the line crossing the t is not right.

I'll leave it the more advanced auto guys to agree or disagree with me, and very much welcome their input on what I've said so I can learn more as well. But these are the points that immediately jumped out at me as obvious signs of a fake.

I'd like to hear others with more experience if possible.

Thanks a lot,

AndyH

Another giveaway is the way the "t" is crossed in Ruth. Typically, the Babe would
end the t strikethrough by pressing down on the pen, creating a small dot at the end
(similar to a period). This example does not have that.

And, yes, I learned that on Antiques Roadshow.
