Default Baseball card stands using a 3D printer

I decided to make my own baseball card holders. I bought a 3D printer and below is my first stand. It takes 3 hours to print one. If you don't factor in the cost of the printer or my time I would guess they cost about $.50 each.

So if I end up printing a couple thousand of these by 2025 I'll end up getting my monies worth.

I had bought a few nice holders from PSA and loved them. But their price was more than ridiculous, especially when you add in shipping. Also, they only have one size and of course, don't care that SGC graded cards don't fit in their holders.

I can print custom sizes for larger cards and even made a holder for cards to lay sideways. I also can make them in gold, clear or just about any color. I think black holders will look nice for SGC graded cards.

Very cool Dan. Yes, what kind of printer did you get?

May I ask what else do you expect to print on it?

Thanks

Peter

I'm not sure what else I will use it for. I've already "printed" a few toys for my grandson. I hope to find other uses for it but even if I don't I have about 50-100 baseball card stands I will be printing over the next month or so. Oh, I forgot, I was thinking about printing holders for my autographed baseballs.

Default Dan,

How long would it take to print a 1952 Mantle PSA 7? I don't want to get too greedy now!

Let me know and funds will be on the way!

Peace, Mike

PS You know what, please add a little gum stain on the back and make it a PSA 7 MK, I love the smell of gum!

Possibly, but at 3 hours per holder I can't see any way of making money on them. However, I'm perfectly willing to share the four designs I have, and any future designs:
Standard PSA case
Standard PSA case laying sideways
Larger PSA case
Standard SGC case

Dan

Default Update on 3D stands

I was out of it for a couple of months but back printing the stands. I tried 3 colors and clear and black seem to look the best. Below are a few display cases with the cards in the new stands.

I did have problems with the first ten or so where the edges would flare up a little. You can notice them if you look closely in the pictures.

Well done Dan. The clear plastic looks great with the PSA holders. I bet the black stands go well with SGC slabs. Again, nice looking stands.
