Default Show Us Your Lionel Carters (and any other collections mentioned on flips)

I am aware of the many Lionel Carter collection cards in the market - having owned his Sam Rice for a while, but cannot recall seeing other collections mentioned on card flips.

I'd be very interested in seeing any you have.

From what I recall, N54 had something to do with this find. I'll see if I can find a link sometime.

I had the whole E90-2 set from Lionel. minus Adams, which I picked up later on.

This is the only card I have left from that set.

Ironic, that Mastro ended up getting them. Any idea how Skydash made out with these?
I seen REA was mentioned as a good place to consign them. I wonder if Skydash, in light of what we now know about Mastro, regretted not using them instead?

Thanks to everyone who has shared their 'branded' flips - very interesting.

I have, for the most part, regretted selling my Sam Rice...it was a nice card and I'd have to pay a lot more to get it back.

Judging by the Shelby Cobra in his driveway (in his photobucket album), looks like he did well.

I like the thought of old Mr Carter tipping this beauty into a scrapbook on a Sunday evening while Mrs Carter knitted a pair of socks or watched Ed Sullivan or whatever.

I don't remember what night of the week it was that Mr. Carter would mount his collection in the albums he used, but when he did so, he and Mrs. Carter would be listening to the Jack Benny Show. I recall reading about it in the write-up of the Mastro Auctions catalog with the first installment of his famed collection.

Mastro even made a special DVD that they included with that catalog which described the Carter Collection, Lionel Carter himself, an interview with Lionel and Irma Carter, and so on, where he mentions The Jack Benny Show. The Mastro people caught on to that, and they thoughtfully had the show's theme music playing as background music for the DVD.

It's hard to believe it's been ten years now since the Carter Collection began to be auctioned.

I don't have a Lionel Carter, but here's one from the Harris collection. I have a card that belonged to Barry Halper, and another rumored to have belonged to Sir Edward Wharton Tygar, but neither is noted on the flip.

Here's my only graded card with a provenance noted on the flip -- another "Endicott NY Find" card. I also have 10 T205s that came from the Leon Luckey Collection via Heritage, but the flips are silent on that.

Here's my one certain Buck Barker card, which I previously posted last year in my thread on the dating of 1948 Bowman baseball. I also have some hobby publications addressed to Barker, and others addressed to lots of big hobby names from the 1960s to the 1980s (Lionel Carter, Irv Lerner, Ray Medeiros, Pat Quinn, Don Steinbach, etc. etc.).
