Default Babe Ruth Photo Question....

Guys,

I just picked up a signed Babe Ruth 5x7 from a fellow Net54 member and was hoping to see if anyone here knew anything else about this particular photo or the photographer....

According to the JSA Cert, we know the following information...

Photo Location: Golden Strand Hotel in Miami Beach
Year: 1948
Photographer: Stephen Blake

Anyone have any additional info on Stephen Blake, his relationship to Ruth(if any), Original photo?

Thanks guys!!

Could be an original photo, as it's not the type to be mass reproduced for autographs and I've never seen the image before.

I know we have a ton of new members and thought I would give this a bump if anyone has any additional information on Stephen Blake or this photo that was signed by Babe right before he passed away in 1948.

jgmp,

On Feb 3, of 1948, Ruth left NY for Florida to recoup from neck surgery. He stayed at the hotel you mentioned. He stayed there until April when he and Claire left for Calif. to advise on the filming of the Babe Ruth Story.
The photographer I have no clue.

Here's one that I own. Same hotel, same time. Looks like Blake was the hotel photographer.
