Default Tips for Taking Quality Photos of Your Collection

Hello - I have a handful of cards that I bought on ebay some years ago that I don't have photos for. I (and my wife) have tried to take some quality pictures of these cards but they just don't come out right. Does anyone have photography tips that they use to make the pictures clear / sharp like the major auction houses (i.e, REA, PWCC, Heritgae, etc.) do? Thanks - Eric

Most use a quality scanner. I have a HP Photosmart 7520 after scanning to a memory card I send to MS digital Image to enhance and crop.

A flatbed scanner seems to make the best web images unless you have some other very expensive, and professional, photo type set up. I use a Canon CanoScan 5600F and it works great.
