Default T206 backs with small green tape stain

I've had several of these at one time or another. From what I can remember most, if not all, were GAI graded and had Piedmont backs.

Does anyone else have any of these in their collection? Any idea where they originated? I'm guessing they all had to come from the same place at some point in time.

Those are from postage stamp hinges, which allows you to display postage stamps in albums without having to paste the entire stamp to the album page.

So, those cards were displayed in an album at some point.

Thanks for that info. Is it worth trying to remove the "gum" from the back of the card?

It's worth trying, but I don't know of any stamp hinges that leave that sort of residue. A bit of water on a q tip won't hurt, in any event, just don't scrub enough to damage the surface. Prcatice on a beater first.

Several years ago I purchased a group of T210s that had green tape residue or stamp hinge residue on them. I did not try to remove this residue. I still have a number of these cards in my collection. Here's a scan I took some time ago of the backs of some of the T210-2s in my collection - a couple of the T210s in this scan have this green residue.
