Default This Gehrig worth a re-grade bump?

Won last week at auction, seemed under-graded but, you know, can't be "sure" until hold in hand. Your thoughts? No hidden creasing on front at all but there's a one-inch corner crease on the blank back--which does NOT show through at all. And it's very faint on blank back. is such a back crease alone enough to lower?

I know it's tough. But a 2 inch crease with those corners will get you around that
3. Love the card! Congrats

Forward it to "Joe" in NJ. He'll do a little "work" on it, and then submit it to PSA where it's guaranteed to get a 5...

Default Gehrig

Great card! I thought that card was under-graded and a steal.
Probably my favorite Gehrig card.
Well done!

Thanks. But is a back crease, even if subtle, an automatic knock down to a "3"?

My last response was "somewhat" of a joke........but seriously, based on the scan and what you've mentioned about the crease, I think you're somewhere in the 3-4 range...

At least in the written grading standards it would seem that a back crease (fairly long but faint and toward the corner) would allow a VG-Ex. Or is that wrong?

You're correct. I think that depending on the grader's "mood", you would probably get a 3 on one day, a 3.5 on another, and a 4 on another. Seriously, if you're planning on re-selling it, I would unslab it, and send it to PSA. The worst that can happen is you'll get another 3, but it will be in a PSA holder, so you'll probably get more money for it...

Whatever you decide, remember! Buy the holder, not the card.

Exactly. Especially since seller's can photoshop what the card actually looks like once it's inside the holder. Always buy the holder and never the card...
