Default 480

Finally hit 480 (All SGC50 or better).

It's taken 3 months to add 10. Getting difficult (and expensive) with 40 more to go. Ebay has been drought-like lately with actual auctions.

That is an ambitious goal. Good luck.

It definitely is. I am counting down the days until my anniversary to I can give my wife the Reggie Miller auto that Matt helped me acquire.

I am now at 76 T206s. Here are a couple of recent additions.

I probably should have taken the time to reduce the size of these images. It is like they are taking over my computer.

In 1984 my father's # would have been 1000. Does that count? Unfortunately, that was the year his entire T206 set was sold .

Would be interesting to see what was in the mix of the 1000's, in terms of backs, oddities, etc. (since were going back 30 years)

The memory of having 1000 is enough.

I am up to 506 now thanks to some board members
I need 1 Sler ( Shag)
1 Hofer (Cobb bat off) not counting Wagner or Plank!
My goal is to finish off the rest minus the big ones by the end of the year!

Frank - please put me down at 482. I've been distracted by upgrading some beaters in recent auctions when I should start going after some of the toughies. Go Blackhawks!

I enjoy reading this thread. It may sound strange but it makes me more enthusiastic about my own collection. When I see some of you getting near completion (520) it makes me realize that I can do the same if I am persistent. As always, thanks for sharing.

long overdue update... last post was 12/2011. Was at 346 then. Now 468. Def slowing down as harder and more expensive cards remain. But always encouraged by reading others' progress, please keep sharing.

Default Update me please:

I'm at 13 now.

All of mine are either graded or being graded and the lowest grades I own are SGC 40 and PSA 4.5

Since I really don't want lower grade cards, I know I will never complete the monster.

It is still impressive to me, however, to see how many folks have gotten close. I guess it's kind of like the perfect-game or unassisted triple play of collecting.

Those last two were to go in special 'sections' within my collection:

Purtell goes with all players born on my birthday

and lack of research had me missing Helm (actually Helms) - who played with my town's pro team 105 years ago.

Finally cracked 400 and am now at 403. I may break the record for the longest to complete the set (assuming I get to my 518 goal). Got my first T206 in 1995. If I keep the same pace, my projected completion date will be December, 2019. Hopefully this thread will still be going then so I can announce the achievement. Frank, don't let it die

Bruce, Steve and Tom, outstanding work, gentlemen. You're each getting close. Very close, indeed!

Frank please bump me up to 99. Was hoping to cross the Century mark this week but, alas, USPS let me down

Desiderata

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Strive to be happy.
