Default What to do with Items that Fail JSA Authenthication?

Looking for some pointers here? I took a chance on some signed memorabilia that ultimately did not pass JSA authentication. The items included a signed Pujols t-shirt, Michael Jordan signed ball and Muhammad Ali signed 8x10. I don't want to keep them around, nor do I want to sell them for a song as I'm afraid they might end up in wrong hands. Should I *gulp* just throw them away?

If you think they may be legit, ask for a second opinion from collectors you trust. If they concur, yup... toss them in the trash.

This is the dues you pay as an autograph collector.

I've heard that Authenticators tend to stray away from authenticating signatures from Pujols due to his inconsistency. (may or may not be true)

I also believe that there is alot of real Ali's that may be near impossible to authenticate (unless he signed it in their presence) due to his disease.

I agree with Shelly- post them here!

If they turn out to be fake, you can still wear the shirt. And, you can wipe the signature off the ball and either donate it or use it.

If it was me, I would keep them if you think they are real or look good, despite the JSA/DNA fail. But if you ever did try to sell them, you should disclose that they failed authentication. The very nature of autograph collecting is very subjective anyways. Authenticators will deem something good when it's bad and I've even heard of times when they deemed something bad and the person got the signature in person! I have a Ryne Sandberg that I got at a show back in the mid '80s and nobody thinks it's authentic (he really did mess up my card with his messy signature). I've bought items before where the seller thought they were bad (based on internet samples he searched), but in my opinion, they were good, so I bought it.

Hello everyone,

Here are some images. I know you all will like the Valentine's backdrop I think the Pujols COULD be good and maybe even the Aaron (looks like an old Scoreboard signing). The others are long shots thought. I appreciate it.

Pujols looks bad too, not sure about Aaron but that's the only one I'd think has a chance of being legit.

Pujols is too easy to forge. I wouldn't bank on Pujols unless there was a legit hologram or cert.
BTW, the Jordan is bad. The Aaron could swing either way, IMO.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to keep the Aaron for now. Will probably give the Pujols shirt away and will erase the Jordan auto so I can throw the ball around. Will recycle the Ali auto. Luckily, this all came as part of one large collection so I am not out much at all.
