Satchel Paige Postcard help...

Recently, I purchased this postcard along with a book and a team issue of Satchel Paige. I honestly have no idea about this issue... In my opinion, it seems like a fantasy issue...

Approx size is 3.5X5.5

Any ideas as to issue? Year? Value?

It sure looks like a Burke/Brace RPPC to me. Both Burke and Brace were period photographers. One of the gives is the way that the name of the player was written in pen on the back. This hand labeling is consistent with what they did with every player, and they had a file of images for literally hundreds of baseball players.

They sold these RPPC's and photographs using the same images to collectors through publications such as The Sporting News through most of the 1970's. BTW, I own many of these in my personal collection.

Listed in catalogs as 1977 Jim Rowe Postcards

If sold with the correct info, they usually sell for under $10, but if seller says 1940-50s then they sell for more.

Hi Travis,
Frank may be right that these postcards could be Jim Rowe restrikes of Burke/ Brace images.
Contact eBay seller Lance Fittro for an idea of price. He sells lots of these.
