Default Factory cut ?

Posted By: Anonymous

Is this miscut or a bad trim job ? At the top it looks like there is a tiny bit of a name from another card on the sheet. But not enough to know for sure.

I think it is untrimmed due to the bottom also being off,but would like some other thoughts as well.
How would this effect a third party grade ?

Factory cut but you have to be careful who it gets submitted to if you want to grade it. PSA will grade it and add an MC qualifier but SGC and GAI might reject it altogether. Just depends...

Why would they reject it ? I mean if it's a factory cut than on what basis could it be rejected ? I refuse to use PSA and send most to GAI.

Ive sent plenty of miscuts to sgc and they have all graded. I believe (someone can correct me if Im wrong) that SGC will only reject a miscut if it won't fit into a gasket/insert.

Josh- that surprises me but I do not doubt your word. I am encouraged that SGC wil do that and will resubmit a couple of cards that were once rejected as miscut and see if I have the same luck.

Bob,

I may just be a question of degree. For example, here is one of my cards that crossed to SGC with no problem. The miscut is obvious, the the size is still fairly standard.
