Default Any expert personalization removers out there?

Was hoping someone out there might be confident enough to try with this piece as I am not. I dont have it in hand yet but I do believe it is signed in marker on a litho. I will pay for the work obviously and this is not going to be resold. I plan on getting Lovell and Borman and putting in on my wall

That's an awesome piece, one of the most iconic photographs ever taken signed by the man who took it.

I'm sure you could probably pay a ton of money to a museum quality paper conservator to do what you want, but honestly, I'd leave it as is.

Thanks! yeah I always wanted a signed earth rise photo. Im thinking that the personalization wouldnt be too tough to get off but I dont have it in hand yet to know for sure. Cant wait to see it in person

Sean - one problem you may run into is even if you are successful in removing the signature, the "To Pete" will leave a discoloration mark, so you will always see that the writing was there. Sometimes, the remnants of the writing make the photo look worse. Instead of a clean photo, you're left with one that looks like it faded.

Sean,
Leave it the way it is.
Personally I like personalization with an inscription, I think it adds something to the piece.
Though when it just says "To Pete, Mickey Mantle" I don't like that much.

I definitely wouldn't risk removing it. Just start going by "Pete" and call it a day!
