Default 57 pirates sleeveless road jersey

Just picked up this '57 Pirates jersey. I have never ventured into the game used jersey market before so I am hoping to get a few pointers. I probably should have sought information before I bought but didn't actually think I would get it in my price range. Jersey is a mcgregor and is tagged 1957 set 2. The description said it may be buddy Pritchard or a minor league call up? Is there anyway to tell or does it even matter? I am happy enough with it as an object at the price I paid. It is number 5.

Looks legit to me, based on McGregor and set tag. Buddy Pritchard wore #5 for the Pirates that year. Looks like one of the buttons was replaced at one point.

Nice Pirates Flannel Pick-up!!

Mark. Nice pickup. I was bidding on the jersey myself at the auction, but really didn't know the value and never heard of Buddy Prichard

I think buddy Pritchard only was in majors for 23 games. So definitely not even close to a main player, but he does have a 58 topps baseball card.

Buddy Pritchard was my high school teacher back in the mid-1980s. I recall
taking his rookie card into class one day and having him sign it for me. The
entire class tripped out that he played professional ball and that an actual
card was make of him.
