Who do you laugh at more, or should I say pity?

PSA for labeling the card wrong or the seller for trying to sell the card as the wrong player. Look at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1042585777

Didn't ANYONE notice the name on the card? I'm sorry to anyone who reads this and is friends of the seller but, c'mon now.

pete, i am not surprised at all, i have a half dozen++ ramly cards with the wrong name. jimmy collins instead of ed collins(his name is on the card), neal ball/jim ball mix ups(o.k. tough enough) murray/murphy, etc/. but what can you expect. think of whose encapsulating these cards, they have no clue. as a member of the 40+ crowd i can't tell the difference between brittany spears and jessica simpson. but who cares they all look the same! that's probably what the card slabber thought.

A few months ago someone sold a mis-slabbed T206 common for quite a bit (I think it was about twice its normal value), claiming it to be a very rare PSA error card, and as such worth a premium.

....and as an over-49 father of an 11 year old with lots of interest in music I can totally relate to your statement.

The only problem is that neither you nor I get paid for our professional services to closely examine and grade Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson [although that is a job many men wouldn't mind having! ].

The answer to this issue is very simple:

Quantity defeats Quality.

The guys at grading companies don't give a sh*t about these problems, they are just interested in $$$$.

This issue will be discussed over and over again, and no solution will arise.

Grading killed the coin collecting hobby, and now it's happening with ours...

I hope the grading companies get a little more picky about their quality. I don't see SGC making as many mistakes as the others. Might be because they don't grade as many but I am still a believer from everything I have seen. AND yes, I do know about a few horror stories (Doyle) etc......and so forth.....I still like the 3rd party "authentication" part of it though.....best regards all......ps...finally figured out the scanner/ebay deal pretty well (except the Oxford-Cobb back is upside down).....looks like ya'll will see a few more cards being sold...

At the last big show here in Chicago I had a group of cards graded and I now have an E90-3 Tinker that says it is an E90-1 American Caramel which is a mistake I can maybe see happening but I also have an E98 Collins that says it is a E92 Croft's Candy!

I can't explain that one.
