Matt:

The first thing that I noticed is that all of the team sweaters on the postcard have a "C" while the Jackson photo for comparison is partially covered up but appears to have an "S" (White Sox?).

Default Might be a "C"

Although it might be the letter "S", is it possible it is the letter "C", but the lower portion is a dark piece of fabric for a pocket? It looks like he is putting his hand in a pocket. Just my opinion.

As is usually the case, the answer is obvious and simple (as it was in the yesterday's RPPC thread). Cleveland AL never wore those uniforms. So - it ain't so. End of story.

As to Phil's comment about the sweater - he is correct. It is a 1909 Savannah SAL sweater (JJ was on that team), as can be seen in this image of Al Demaree below left:

Default Hmm

the better question might be what uniform is Joe wearing in the so-called Colliers pic? Looks like a Savanna sweater, but the cap and socks don't appear to match up. Not a tribe uni, or so Okkonen would say.

Todd - you are right. He likely brought the sweater to a another team's spring training. Which team? - I don't know. The cap could be Phi AL, but not the socks.
