Default A thanks to T206HOUND

Eric must have remembered that I had a collection of F.F.Baker stamped backs from a thread a few years ago. He P.M. ed me that he had seen 3 for sale with Baker stamps. I've passed on a few over the years that I thought were over priced but these 3 were very reasonable and I was able to pick them. That's the great part of this place, collectors looking out for collectors. Thanks again Eric. This brings my total to 7.

Erick emailed me a few weeks ago with some great T206 leads. 10 minutes later (and almost $200) I had about 25% of my remaining T206s in one shot... Gee thanks
Great board member.

I've gotten about 90% of my T206's from Erick. Fantastic guy to deal with--a huge help. Hope I have some more cash to spend soon.

Wow. That fantastic. I'm just blown away with his dedication and him caring about other collectors. What a great guy. The thing that really blew me away was my thread about the Baker stamp had to be 2 or 3 years old and he still went to the trouble to remember, hunt me down and notify me. That's above and beyond cool. Thanks again Erick. Sorry I spelled your name wrong in my original post. I will get a Barry Sloate slap on the wrist so I won't make that mistake again. Erick truly is good people. All the negative things we hear about our hobby is sometimes over shadowed by the truly good things in it.

I would agree as well about all of the kind words about Erick. I've purchased several T206 cards from him and it's always been a top-notch experience. Thanks again Erick!

As a follow up I get a PM from another collector on 54 that has a Baker stamp and he would like to trade that card for a card I have straight up. Done deal. Both parties should be happy. Next day another collector allerts me to another Baker stamp for $16. Another purchase. So I went from completely forgetting about t206's and Baker for a few years to now having 9 in my collection. I think it's really cool that after 100 years and 50 states that 9 of Mr. Bakers card are re united. Maybe some day I will be able to amass most of his collection, track down a distant relative and pass them on through his family as part of their history. As Jay has always said. We don't own these cards, we're just holding them for awhile.

Just an update to my quest for Baker stamps. I am up to 15 now and picked up and Old Mill. So far that is the only one I have seen that isn't a Piedmont back but a trusted collector sold an American Beauty some time ago and is still trying to locate the collector that bought it from him.

I sent Andy a bio on F.F.Baker to publish on his web page if he would like. I am going to send him all the scans of my collection to accompany the bio.

Still hunting more Baker stamps.

twodueces22@yahoo.com

Thanks for all the help from this board with my project. Without it, it would be near impossible to hunt them down alone.

Thanks, Joe

Joe!

Thanks for the background info on Baker. When you get me the scans I'll update the whole FF Baker page on the website.

I'm looking forward to the updates!

I'll continue to keep an eye out for them for you too.

And to stay on topic, all my deals with Erick have been top notch as well. You rock man.

Best,

AndyH

Default Andy's Site

If you haven't done so, you should visit Andy's site and check out all the stamps he has documented. One that is missing is Howie McCormick? I know whe have a collector here with a mega collection of his stamps. I'd love to see that added.
