Default Question about a PreWar Postcard?

Posted By: Bill

Can anyone tell me what year this card is from? Who's on it, the team? Any info would be great. Picked it up on ebay last night very cheap, figured I had nothing to loose.
Thanks, Bill

thousands of these on ebay over the course of a year. Difficult to say without any info on the back or unless it's a major or minor league team. Yours has great photo clarity though and looks to be in nice shape. Maybe someone else knows more but most of the real photo team postcards will remain anonymous.....

Default Question about a PreWar Postcard?

Local team. Almost every RPPC of local teams consist of 9 or 10 players. Prolly 1910-19. I can tell more if I see the back. These are little pieces of history frozen in time. You may be able to research the team, but chances are slim. Nice pick up.

In Rememberance of James W. Brennan Sr. 1924-1982. Dad, thanks for everything you did for me.

Hard to say...could be an "Institute" of some sort? Could be Mason City, Iowa? If it's unused it may be impossible to ever tell what team this is. It is a cool card and it's the kind of stuff I collect when I run across small town Nebraska teams like this.

MCI is a famous Prep School in Maine. It has produced several professional Athletes in the last couple of decades. I am not sure if this is it or not but that jumped out at me.

Thanks for the reply, My favorite was, it was a Phone Co...It cost me $15 bucks, I just thought it had a GOOD old time look. Picked it up from a reputable Vintage Dealer. I would like to know a little history of this card.

Artura backs of this design date from 1906-1912. That's about all I can add. I have over 100 early baseball team related RPPC's from local, company and factory team. Most are un identified and most likely will remain so.

Here's one that went un noticed on e-bay recently.

I researched the players and came across "Lefty Miller" Great bio and great read on the provided link and of course this RPPC might have some interest for PCL, NWL and Lefty Miller Collectors. Lefty played on 5 or 6 different PCL teams and had a cup of coffee with Connie Macks Philadelphia Athletics. There are still some hidden gems on e-bay.
