Default 1800's Baseball Cabinet Photo

Any ideas about this team, age, etc. Looks like 1880's to me based on uniforms and equipment. I know the condition is not very good. Is it worth getting restored? Photobucket

Quality restoration, especially to the image part, would probably be more expensive than the photo is worth. It's rough, but presentable so there's no requirement that it be fixed. It's expected that 1800s photos will sometimes be rough. It's from late 1880s-mid 1890s-- circa the Old Judge years.

Restoration can be quite expensive and probably not worth it for this photo. You might want to get it cleaned as albumen photos often develop a film on the surface. But it's not clear what you would want a restorer to do. There are white dots on your image- is that the scan or are they really there? In general, you have to weigh the cost of the work against the value of the photograph.

Circa 1890 company team. I agree with David that it's not worth getting restored...it would cost you way more than the photo is worth.

Thanks for the info on the photo. I was thinking the same thing, but wanted to be sure. I didn't post a picture of the frame it was in, but it is probably worth as much or more than the picture. I think it will make a nice display piece, as is, but may try to get it cleaned.
