Default M116 Sporting Life Scarcity Poll

Greetings everyone. I am taking a poll for the 10 scarcest cards from the M116 Sporting Life set. I would be interested to see what cards are selected. Look forward to some responses.
Thanks

Default Really only 2

Bates, Cinn and Seymour, Baltimore. All the rest are attainable with time and money and in nice condition.

I agree with Scott, but McConnell White Sox is close to unattainable imo.

There are a few more that are tougher than the rest too. Read Tim Newcomb's article if you're interested.

Scott- have to disagree with you on McConnell White Sox. Not only do I think a nice one is unobtainable even with loaded pockets, I haven't seen a low graded one in a long, long time.
As far as toughies, when I put my set together the last 2 cards I got were Pernoll and Wood. Pernoll was also one of the last handful Tim N. found while putting his set together (both us put our sets together card by card) while Smokey Joe is really hard because of the card's popularity.

Default Ok,ok

I will back track a bit and put McConnell in the #3 spot and tough in nicer grade. I looked and even mine could use a bit of upgrading. McQuillan on the other hand, not nearly so tough.

Scott, isn't there like exactly one of each Bates and Seymour card?

Has anyone documented more than one of either?

Rob- I believe you are correct, one of each to my knowledge.

Thanks Bob.

Wouldn't that make them the scarcest two cards from any mainstream set?

If I ever complete my set, I think I'll be ok without those two...

Default M 116 Sporting Life Scarcity

At least to me, the Gaspar has to be a toughie. I've needed one for a long time and don't remember seeing one.

To my knowledge:

One Bates

One Seymour-regular card.

Two Seymours-not full production cards, Black and White(really just missing the color pass) with blank backs yet on regular stock. Both are hand cut.

I would think there should be more, Seymore is listed with Baltimore on one of the ad sheets I have where they could be ordered. I will have to double check Bates on the ads.

I surmise the two unfinished Seymours are probably printers scrap from when the card was pulled from production.

I would guess there are collectors with more of them, either under the radar or probably not even aware of the team variation.
