Sorry if im outing this auction to anyone but i thought we should talk about it. It looks like him 100%, and you have to believe what is writen on the back. Early Lou gehrig photo. The thing that makes me laugh the most is the guy keeps on spelling LOU wrong, its LOU not LUE. You have the photo right in front of you.

I'm sorry, but I don't think this looks like Gehrig at all.

Always looking for T59 Flag cards and T113 Types of Nations.

Of course it's Lou gehrig. It's a rare photo of him from before he realized that he was left-handed.

If he was alive, Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig would have been an infant when the photo was shot.

Gehrig was born in 1903 and the uniform is circa 1895-1905.

It should be noted that if the photo went for the minimum bid, it could be considered a fair buy even though it isn't Gehrig. If someone bought they photo for $50, they weren't gyped.

In the collectibles market, everything has a value, just not the same value. You aren't gyped if you paid $1 for T206 Wagner reprint, you're gyped if you paid $500 for a T206 Wagner reprint. And if you pay $50 for a genuine c. 1900 baseball photo that later turns out not to depict Lou Gehrig, you paid a fair price.

There appears to be nothing wrong or bad with the photo other than the player isn't Lou Gehrig. In fact it's a fine example of the baseball fashion of the period, with the standard 'puffy' pants, turned up collar and high top shoes. Could use as an illustration in a baseball uniforms history book.
