Default Vintage Signed 1952 Topps

Posted By: James Gallo

Ok guys wanted to get an idea of what you thought the value on something like this might be.

I got it in a collection of 1952 Topps cards and recently had it graded by Beckett with a James Spence sign off. Card was graded a 2 with a 9 autograph. I know there is a premium on vintage autos and I couldn't find anything on ebay. Card appears to be signed in ballpoint pen, and was apprently signed back in the 50's.

Ryan played in the big leagues from 42-54 but wasn't very good. He died in 1996.

Thoughts? Thanks

James G

Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.

I can't speak of value of the card itself, but Ryan was a great signer and there really isn't much demand for his autograph. $15-20?

$20 is about right. With the invention of eBay (and the net), private colelctions and sellers are breaking open the flood gates with common signed cards from the 1950's (and on) and they are far from common with the signed variations selling for as much as unsigned cards go. This Ryan is quite common and it was probably signed much, much later in life.
