Default 1887 Football

Ok, football, but here it is anyway. Picked up a HUGE framed (original) cabinet of the 1887 Ottawa College FBC (Foot Ball Club) "Champions of Canada" team. The interesting thing is that earlier this year, from a completely different source, I picked up an almost identical cabinet card of the 1888 championship team, which I have since sold.

That's huge....I love composite photos. Was this an internet pickup or did you find it locally?

Tell ya what, it's got the kiss of Canada, but still that's a kiler photo....what are the dimensions? It is one of the best looking composite photos I've seen, and the period frame completes it. Can you take a closer in of the trophy? I don't know if you're selling it but I'll tip off someone I know who may be interested to it. John Buonaguidi had a great Canadian football composite photo, same vintage, that he sold at the 06 National, seen below, and featured in the page link below:

Wow Carlton, that collage is incredible! Do you remember any specifics about what teams/league it represented? As for mine, I would imagine it will be available for sale/trade before long.

Framed dimensions are roughly 24"x28".

Here is a closeup of the trophy.

Beautiful piece Rob. Have you dug up any information on the team as of yet? I would be interested to see the schedule that they played. That composite is just ridiculous.

I know they beat Montreal for the Championship but I haven't looked much further of yet.
