Default Authenticating 1971 Bazooka numbered series?

Hi all,

I recently picked up this Yaz 1971 Bazooka #5 from eBay at a reasonable price. Since the numbered version's a fairly rare proof set, I'm aware someone could've faked it. Anyone else have another 1971 Bazooka numbered card to compare the scan to?

My 2 concerns:

1. The "5 of 48" looks somewhat dot-printed, but Bazooka did use sloppy printing sometimes.

2. There's rippling in the paper, somewhat visible in the scan.

There are clearly two layers, cardboard and paper, so it's not just printed card stock. Any help's much appreciated!

Spike

Default bazooka

The face of it looks very fishy to me - like a bad scan and glue job. I don't know if the image I am posting is a high enough resolution to help you, but there it is.

Interesting, thanks for your scan.

Higher-res could help with the printing details, but it sounds like your card's got a smooth front-and-back. No wrinkling on the front?

I looked at your enlarged photo . . . do the white letters in the name have any dot structure whenviewed at 10X, ditto the black letters?

If so . . . it's a rescreened fake with the number added.

Yes, pretty sure they do have a dot pattern, so looks like this card will go back. At least the seller offered 14 days for return!

Thanks to Bob and hcv123!
