The Chicagos wore those uniforms into the 1890's. To me, it looks like Malachi Kittridge, who played for the Colts 1890-1897. I don't have the skills to do a careful comparison of the facial features, but I've added a photo of him in a Boston uniform taken in 1903:

There is a hatless image of Kittridge in Baseball's First Stars,(p. 93) and it certainly looks like that could be him.

It's not mine...the owner believed it to be Billy Sunday which I was sure it was not...I posted here because I knew someone would be able to positively identify the player.

I think it's interesting that the image used in this card is from the 1895 team photograph, and the hand on Kittridge's right shoulder is not his own:
