Salesmen use the term RC or the "rookie card" term, not collectors.

It's not his rookie, obviously.

And while there shouldn't be interference in these threads, a gross mistake, can always be called out. Just make sure your ducks are in a row or you will be eating crow. I think Beckett mistakenly coined the "rookie" for his '33 Gehrigs, and '33 Ruths too.

Leon, you are correct about Beckett using that rookie term for Goudey Ruth cards, as I recently submitted one for grading and got the "RC" indicator right next to "1933 Goudey #181 Babe Ruth" in their search bank. That is pretty shocking to me not only that it is there on their site, but also that is hasn't yet been corrected even after all of these years.

From their POV not a mistake. Beckett insisted rookie cards had to be from widely distributed packs, and apparently applied that definition to prewar where it made no sense at all. But it's the same logic as refusing to call the 101 Jordan an RC or the Fleer Update Clemens.
