Love that he is IDed only as "Matty." Well, that takes care of the frequent problem of misspelling Mathewson as Matthewson.

I received this card in the mail yesterday. It came from another collector as a gift and it floored me when I opened the package. Not only does it fit my T206 HOFer collection, but it has a double back stamp on it as well! There really are some generous true collectors out there that will help out another collector just to help, not expecting anything in return. I'll be paying this forward for a while!

The scans suck because my scanner doesn't pick up slabbed cards too well. And these BVG holders are thick! This is the first one I've ever had in hand and now I understand when you guys talk about them being the most protective slabs out there.

Thanks,

AndyH

AndyH

I appreciate hearing this.

Like hearing POSITIVE stories in this negative laden world. Reassures me there are friends, unselfish, good intending people out there. To give and not expect to receive in return. A message dating back 2000 years

Hey Joe.

I couldn't agree more. I was absolutely floored when I open this card. And like I said, I will definitely be paying it forward. I love this aspect of our hobby. There truly are great people in it.

Best

Yes, they are real. They would grade authentic. I know Steve F. and McQueen both have cards that were handcut off the same sheet. The backs have handwriting on them. The Young was soaked to remove some gunk off of it, and the McGraw is trimmed. Perhaps Brian can post a couple of his on here. I also used my iPad to take the pic, and it's rather grainy.

My first '14 CJ. Buy the card, not the holder. The line behind his head is a lot less prominent in hand.

E98s are definitely real. Young is soaked probably, but the handcut quality to it is super cool.

I would've wondered too if I hadn't seen that particular card before. The scan kind of made it look fake as well.

Nice pickups!

holy crap mr. wonka! that is one of the coolest walter johnson portraits I have ever seen, especially with a unique back. it is funny to me, it is only graded a 5.5, but when i was a kid that card is "mint"!

Default Good day!

Not only did I receive this T206, my wife bought me a VIP meet and greet with Don Mattingly and Mark Teixeria that came with Steiner Authenticated autographed ball by Mattingly that was also in the mail today..

I get to meet with Texixeria on Dec. 15 take some pics and ask some questions then sit in on an interview.

I meet Mattingly sometime in Jan. (TBD)!!!!

nice pickups guys! Especially like the 1914 CJ Shulte and tintype. And congrats to the collector who scored his first 1914 CJ!
