Default Help identifying team on postcard?

A friend of mine is trying to figure out where the team depicted on this real photo postcard might be from. He thinks it might be Louisville because of the L surrounded by a horseshoe, but that's just a guess. Any thoughts or guesses? On either the team or just the date, based on the uniforms and equipment?

Very cool postcard! Good luck in determining its origin.

Not Louisville...I think they are wearing throwback uniforms from some team. belts, uniform and glove don't really match the time period.

My first impression was that this is a still from some movie. Notice how the illumination is from directly in front of the "players"--hardly any shadows from the bills of their caps, etc.
