Default 1912 Honest Cut Ty Cobb Card

Posted By: Danny Stryffeler

Hi, I recently bought a bunch of baseball cards to add to my collection . In this bunch of cards I found a 1912 Ty Cobb Card by Honest Cut. This card is in rough shape but stil;l a great card for my collection. My queston is if it is real or not. The card seems to be a front and back glued together. Can any one tell me what kind of card stock was used for printing these cards and if when they were issued were they issued as a front and a back? Did this card come printed on the front and back? or did it come as 2 cards. A front with a blank back and then the back as a seperate card? This card looks very old and looks like 2 card glued together. Any info will be very much appreciated.

Thanks inadvance for your time and your help in thjis matter.

Danny

Danny - welcome to the forum! It would be helpful if you could post a scan of the front and back of the card.

My guess...... 1/3 of a T202.

They are often found cut up into 3 parts.

Picture?

Danny- that's what a T227 Cobb looks like, but I don't think yours is real. Unless it's just a bad scan, it looks very washed out. And as you said, two halves are glued together. I assume like many other vintage cards it's been reprinted.

Yes, looks very much like a reprint. Hope you did not pay too much for it. Here is a link to a real T227 Cobb, you can clearly see the difference.
