Thanks Dan. Special bat and ball. Raising funds as I have made a lot of acquisitions, tough to say goodbye to the bat.
The lemonpeel ball is mint mint and circa 1860. It's with REA for the next auction. What makes that particular ball special is that it is truly adult size. Not a child's lemon or belt, which are much more common. We'll see how the ball does. Rob was getting close to 10k for pristine large examples a few years ago, but the prices for 19th cent have been off a little. Special ball that I hope goes for a special price.
If anyone would like to purchase my Speaker bat, also on eBay, please feel free to make an offer as again I am raising funds. Reasonable offers will be accepted.
Best,
J

It turns out that Gehrig sent a Batrite to Louisville to use as a reference for making him bats, which was received on, and vault marked, July 29, 1932. It is believed that Gehrig likely used Batrites from 1929 through mid-1932, perhaps the last year in conjunction with Louisvilles. J
