Default Mystery t206 card

Posted By: PC

Thanks Ted. This card shows a So. Leaguer and a Piedmont 350 back, which is consistent with what you and Scot said, but Scot's post indicated the Mullaney card was originally printed in the 150 series and then extended into the 350 for a short period of time. So, I'm still confused as to whether the So. Leaguers were printed in the 150 run.

(I probably care too much about this, as I spent a fair amount of time with Scot's T206 manuscript, and was intrigued by the discussion of the T206 backs, and how that tied to production timing, etc.)

Well, I see that I'm a little late on this one. Way to go Jamie, great job with photoshop. I'll post these images anyway, but suffice to say that I agree 100% that it is Mullin.

PC,

Southern leaguers are not possible with any back that says "150 subjects". But most of them (including Mullaney) are available with the Brown Hindu back. The Brown Hindu back was issued contemporaneously with the "150 subjects" backs. So it is my view that the southern league subjects that are available with the Brown Hindu back, such as Mullaney, are brethren of the Major League subjects, such as Young Portrait, that first became available in the 150 series and were extended into the 350 series.

Scot

I wonder how the T206 value estimator (claculator) would price this card

Haha, Joe. I think we'll need to implement a "Multiple Back" selection feature.

I found a third ghost image on the back of this T206.

I thought I saw something in the background, almost like a second complete card back, but it was impossible to see clearly, so I exploded the pixels ...

And behind the all the confusion was this ...

This is the best card ever. I'm going to photoshop it again and see if I can get tomorrow's winning lottery numbers.
