Default national pickups

I got a pretty good variety of stuff from the National. Knocked a few things off my list, upgraded a few, and picked up some random impulse items. I was especially happy to get the Oxford Confectionery Grimes because I almost missed it hiding under another card...

So, it was you! Great pick ups. I kept getting skunked on all those, from the series 3s to the 8s. There were a bunch of great cards. Nice!

Picked up this blazer Lucia T210 from David Bryan on eBay which arrived today.

Ok, I know it is just a common, but it is my first T206 that I actually have in hand. I am excited and just had to share! I have purchased 4 others from fellow board members (all Polar Bears) that should be here in the next day or two. Don't worry I won't subject you to several more posts of individual commons...I will wait until I get the other 4 together. Five down and only 245 to go to make the Polar Bear run happen.

Henry Johnsons and W514s from Leon/Heritage, D304 from Bob Lemke. This is the exact card that was photographed for the D304 entry in the Standard Catalog, which I think is pretty cool.

Thanks to Luke Lyon and Scott Gross, I am on my way with Polar Bear backs. I now have a whopping 5. My first one was graded. After receiving these, I am not so sure that I don't love them more ungraded and natural. I'm sure I will have graded and ungraded as I go but there's just something about them outside of the slab...

Default Heritage pick up

I picked up this Exhibit from Leon's auction yesterday. Thank you Leon!

I love this card. It features a young Dimaggio at the start of his career and Gehrig wrapping his up. Kind of a Yankee Passing of the Torch card. I'm not sure if they share any other cards during both of their playing years. Anyone know of any others?

Default Thanks Leon:

I was able to pick up this magnificent trio from Leon's Type Card Auction:

The 1904 WG2 Fan Craze Eddie Plank is my second different Plank card;

The 1923 WG7 Walter Mails Game - Walter Johnson is my second 'Double-Walter' from this set (the other being Mr. Mails himself);

The 1904 Allegheny Card Co. - Joe McGinnty is my sixth Allegheny and my first Hall-of-Famer from this one-of-one set.

Thanks again - Leon

Robert...nice Polar Bears! My second T206 was Dots Miller. For some reason, Dots loves to break the ice in beginner's collections Good luck moving forward!
