There is a smattering of pre-war, maybe 5-6 tables usually. It's not a bad show but depth and breadth on the pre-war material is lacking. The show is growing though and I see 4 graders will be there (not sure if they are grading onsite). Tons of Mets material usually shows up too (there's always Yankee stuff too).

I may be there, not sure yet. I usually go but might have a conflict this weekend. It's not a bad show but is heavier on post war and the usual array of UV cards.

IMO It's worth the trip. I would say that there are at least 10 tables of prewar material and they have a good line up of people signing autographs including HOF Ralph Kiner. Sgc is taking submissions but not grading. I go twice a year and it's a good way to kill a couple of hours.

I'll most likely be there. Probably saturday. They have 2 a year, i usually go to both. I feel it's worth it, but I live only 45 minutes away, and it's really the only show i ever go to. I hate sending my cards out for grading, and never do, so its nice handing the few that i do have grading to SGC in person. It's definatley the best show close to me on long island. decent selection of old stuff.

Anyone else gonna go?

Jeff,

There are about 3 or 4 good tables at the show. Thats about it.

Although... I may actually go on Sunday and check it out (haven't decided yet).

I may take my 3 year olds this weekend to their first show; I told my wife and she nearly pulled a Cheryl David on me. Claimed that a pumpkin patch would be more appropriate. I disagreed.

I don't think I am going to this show.

It now looks like - if I did go - it would be on Saturday.
But, its a long-shot for me.

that's how my family makes money. (and helps me buy cards!) You should check out my farm on Long Island (Lewin Farms) in wading river, calverton area. We have two huge pumpkin fields, this weekend might be our last weekend for pick your own pumpkins.

Sorry to push my business, but we really do have a great farm, biggest fruit and veg. farm on island, lot of u-pick when in season and X-mas trees!

I did a corn maze this year too but i don't know if i'll open it this weekend, the stalks are starting to break down now (end of season). plus i wanna go to the show this weekend.

Anyone wants any info email me, i could give some discounts to board members.

hope to see some of you there, at show!

If anyone attends the show, and happens to see any t206s with the rubber stamp of Howe McCormick on it, please snag it for me within reason. Cards over $100, a call would be appreciated first. If you're going and might need my cell phone number, please respond to edmccollum@cox.net
Thanks.

Very disappointing show with the same half-dozen serious dealers with vintage material and nothing really new to offer that I have not seen from these same dealers at the recent White Plains, NY and Reading, PA shows. I submitted one card to SGC for grading and Michael Goldberg was very helpful and knowledgable, as usual. PSA was the only other card grading company in attendance but business appeared very slow at their table today.

I went Saturday, had a good time, completed my 1939 Playball set after 2 1/2 years(needed 4 high #'s), met Hofer Ralph Kiner, he signed his Rookie 1948 Bowman , JSA did their bit and I bought some graded card storage boxes. I don't know, It was worth it for me at least and will continue to go twice a year. It was a perfect way to spend a rainy day IMO.

Edited for spelling.

Chris - you had JSA authenticate a signature you received yourself not 5 minutes before?

I don't see much of a difference between getting a signature authenticated and getting a raw card graded/authenticated, except maybe the cost of doing so.
