Default Anyone Heard Of This Team? Sam Moore?

Picked this up off of ebay because the seller found it in an Omaha estate and am hoping for it to be a local team. Anyone ever heard of Sam Moore's baseball team?

Dan, I can't help you with the picture but I think it's awesome. I really like the decal bat they have. It looks like it could be a Joe Jackson model.

Clint, I noticed the decal bat too...bet you're right about it being a Joe Jackson.

Randall, thanks for the info...so is/was there a town in Indiana named "Sam Moore"?

I see this Sam Moore has a connection with White's institute, a large, well known group home/foster care organization that has existed for a long time.

They have their own school on the grounds as well.

Here is the link. Maybe they know about Sam Moore.

The athletic director at our High School in Warsaw, Indiana (retired last year) was a White's graduate, and also a division 1 basketball player at Evansville, so they do apparently have a decent athletic tradition.

In reading the history of White's they took Indian children in -

1882-1895 Indian children are sent to White's to be educated and taught to farm until the U.S. Government stops Indian children programs.

If this Moore was an Indian at White's it was in that time frame.

Nope, I just kind of put it on the backburner through the holidays. I have lots of stuff like this that I just set aside until I run across something that tells me more about an item. I was hoping for a Nebraska connection somewhere, but I'm leaning towards this being an Indiana photo for the time being.

One step closer to figuring out this team....found this today while researching something else...it was posted to the CU forums about two years ago.

I'm 99.9% sure that it's the same guy smack dab in the middle of the Sam Moore team photo.

Now to try and figure out this Halifax team. Nothing listed in SABR's database...must be a Canadian team?

Dan, I think I own that postcard. When I get home later I'll look and see if I have any notes with it. I sometimes research the card, add notes and put them together. I'll let you know.

In Rememberance of James W. Brennan Sr. 1924-1982. Dad, thanks for everything you did for me.
