He was actually on the cover of the Police Gazette twice, that I know of, with them using the same image. Here is the other one.

Default Memory Lane

Don’t have the card yet, but I won the Uzit bat off shoulder Cobb in the Memory Lane auction this past weekend. Not exactly the T206 I’ve been wanting, but hey it’s a Cobb! Was bidding on the ‘14 Cracker Jack insanely aggressive or what? Hopefully it was a Net54 family member who won it. I tapped out at a little over $10k on that one.

Sorry I’m a crappy photographer. I’ve also got a M116 Blue background, 2 1914 Polo Grounds, a Brunner’s Bread, a Rogers Peet, and a 1922 W575-2 that I can’t seem to upload.
Incredibly impressive collection of Cobbs you have assembled. The list would have been shorter if you had simply listed what you don’t have...lol. Well done.

Uzit Bat Off Cobb? I didn't see that in Memory Lane. That's a huge buy, though. Please show pics when it comes in!

A couple of collages I made up to see how many issues could be identified by a fellow collector. Not all are postcards. Many of the items shown have a pop less than 10.

I agree, that montage is way cool. I was able to identify most but a few gave me trouble.

Everybody needs a beater Cobby in there collection.

Finally broke down for the greenie. Great centering, no creases, excellent eye appeal, corners a tad soft but consistent with the grade. Perhaps not purple-sticker worthy, but a solid meat-and-potatoes VG-EX, fairly priced. I'm happy.

Great card and an even better price! I thought the stellar eye appeal merited at least another $1,000-$1,500. Congrats!

Me too Pete. It was kind of spur of the moment, as I generally don't search ebay. But yesterday I happened to type in "T206 green Cobb" and the rest is history.

Congrats Barry. Thats a great looking Cobb, and I agree you got it for solid price. I especially like that its an SC 150, 25 -- a little more difficult than the fact 30 or 350, 30.

Do we dare to do a thread? I don't know if the board has enough memory to fit in all the posts.

Here's another Cobb beater;
1910 Cuban Punch to commerorate The Tigers playing exhibition games on the Island. Don't know if it's true that Bruce Petway threw Cobb out trying to steal infuriating the Georgia Peach

Jesus craig, that's amazing. Never seen it before. Do tpg's grade that (looks like an sgc holder)? If so, what's the pop on that? Can I see the back?

Hey Ethan. Im not a bat expert. My guess is 1910.

Thanks Mike as the decal as around 95 percent complete.

Craig, thats an awesome Punch Cobb card which to answer Orly's pop question.... it must be around 3. As most know, back in 1910, Cobb was late arriving for the two week series in Cuba. He played in only half the games, so anything from this series is super rare.

Here is a RPPC from the same series. There was another RPPC that sold in the Christies auction making two different ones Ive see.

Craig's Punch Cobb led me into a one hour rabbit hole into the depths of the internet. I only found only 2 graded by sgc and couldn't find one in the psa pop. Both Cobb examples are graded authentic. I was shocked to find that of the 72 total 1910 Punch card graded by SGC, all except for one (a 1.5 jose Mendez) are graded authentic. This is largely due to the fact that only a very small percentage of cards from this set exist with the backing and all graded punch cards without backing are classified as authentic. No examples of this Cobb card with backing are known to exist. What an amazing card!

M116 Cobb. I'm not crazy about the case because vthe card moves around. I may send it back to sgc for a better fit. Any opinions?
