Default T216 People's Tobacco (Kotton, Mino, Virginia Extra)

Posted By: Adam J. Baxter

Hi all,
I was reading some old threads about this tough issue last night and in one of the posts someone stated that Leon kept track of sales for this set. Leon, do you still track sales for this issue or does anyone else on the board? I'm curious to know how many of the three types (Kotton, Mino, Viginia Extra)have sold on Ebay or other auctions over say the last year? How many of the tougher paper type? Any thoughts?

Regards,
Adam

Hey Adam,
Just got back tonight from a National Sales meeting with my company (the computer one) and am just catching up. I have not really kept a formal track of the T216 backs, but do so extemporaneously. (did I just say that?) As for the total of 5 different back varities I would put them in the following scarcity order...from 1.most scarce to 5. least scarce....(and the most common are still fairly scarce)...

1. Virginia Extra
2. Mino
3. Kotton -Never Go Out.. w/o "Extra Mild" on back (close to #2)
4. Kotton- with the numbers 1.2.3.
5. Kotton- Never Go Out Extra Mild

The thin paper stocked ones are generally the Virginia Extra and the Kotton-Never Go Out ....w/o "Extra Mild" on the back....just my educated guesses

best regards,
leon

Adam-

I keep track of every pre-war card sales price that is sold by one of the big three (SGC, PSA, or GAI). This only inlcudes individual card sales, not lots or groups. Since Jan. 2003, I have recorded the sale of six graded T216 Kottons and one Mino. Here they are:

Kottons:
Common 20 (1.5) = $81.00
Common 50 (4) = $313.95
Common 50 (4) = $128.95
Bender 20 (1.5) = $224.72
Evers 30 (2) = $227.70
Jennings 30 (2) = $158.50

Mino:
Common 30 (2) = $510.01

I haven't broken this down to the degree of resolution you asked about, but hope it helps you out all the same. Dave
