Default RMY winnings

Another well run auction from Rhys. Great job.

Show off what you won. The biggest surprise of the auction has to be the Max Carey photo going for over $2400 with BP!

So my last Christmas present from the wife was won tonight. I really love her.

Andy,
Nice Haul.

I guess by your post that you can't see the photo I posted.
Can you see this one?

Why would that Carey have sold for such a high price?

I was as shocked as anyone with the Carey image. My thinking is that it is a rare image of him from a particular year (rare uniform style) etc. There are some passionate collectors out there with very specific tastes!

I appreciate all the bids and think the Sunday format worked fine for a first go-around. The Auction ended at midnight and nobody had to lose any sleep.

Rhys

I was hoping to see a response to this also. I was wondering if it had to do with him being with Booklyn.

I just bought a 1912 photo of him in the RMY in November for minimum bid. There seems to be a huge difference considering one is his Sophmore Season and the other is his last. The one I bought does have more condition issues, but again it is quite a leap.

There always seems to be an inconsistency in image prices still. For instance I was trying to research AAGPBL photo prices when I bought some and found this image sold for $51.79 in Sept, 2013.

Then in June, 2014 (10 months later) this image sold for $286.12

1915 Paddy Bauman NY Yankee

1914 George Bain photo of Hank Robinson Cardinals and also 1918 NY Yankees.

I quit bidding long before final selling price but believe this 1961 Mantle sold rather strong at $1k. Tremendous action shot however.

I will admit that RMY has turned me into a photo collector.

Picked up a couple of the cheaper items. Seems every auction I pick up one or two. RMY is the only place I've ever bought a picture from!

I almost bid on the Robinson but decided against it.

I feel the same way. I have always been a card guy. But I am starting to like photos more the past few months. I love the displayability of them.

I won the Jack Fourneir photo:
