I think you have to wait until the end of the auction for the first half to reappear.

I may be wrong, but I believe that the E107's in last night's auction, were the last of the Sullivan's to be auctioned.

I backed off on the Lajoie, anyone here win it?

Tony

Good job Rainier

To let you know how prices have dropped on E107, I paid more for SGC 30 Carey several years back than what that highest graded one went for in this auction.

For the record, I also backed off the Lajoie.

I thought the price on Lajoie was fair, but I wouldn't say that it went lower than expected. I would say that if the Lajoie had received a bid at the 3500 level, with the 19.5% buyers premium, it would have gone for about $4200 which is what this identical card went for in REA back in 2009. I had anticipated it going for a little less than that this time around just because of all the e107s available. I thought it would finish exactly at the 3k bidding incriment, but it ended up at $3250.

But yes, in this market, Type 2 HOFers that aren't named Delehanty hover around 4k for pretty nice ones. Counting BP and shipping, this one went for a bit over $3900 which is just about right.

Type 2 HOFers that aren't as nice as this Lajoie typically fall in the $2-2.5k range. For instance, I picked up a Keeler with creases across the face for $2400 a couple years back.

Just curious, why did people back off the Lajoie? I would have been happy to pick it up at the next bid increment ($3,500) but fell asleep early that night and forgot to bid.

Phil,

I backed off towards the end. The more I looked at the card, there was a brown stain across his face, and I figured I would save my money, and wait for a Type 1 example. I don't think the Type 2 examples will ever explode in value.

I'm also waiting for a nice Type 1 Chesbro as well.

Tony

My grand idea for my e107 collection include a type 2 and Id love a second HOFer, but I have to acquire a few others still so $3k was my stop point...gotta be able to walk away.

I put in max bid couple days prior and just waited. I didn't want to go beyond $3000 at this time.
