Default With a Little Mayo on It: PSA or SGC?

Recently discovered huge disparity in number of Mayo Cut cards graded by SGC vs. PSA. What is reason for it? Simply because they look better in SGC holders? SGC more lenient for them? Do the SGC cards bring better price? Just curious.

SGC is the most reliable and accurate

On a lot of pre war tougher sets there are more collectors of SGC than PSA, on the 20 or so sets I collect thats the case. The only pre 1940's PSA cards that generally will bring more money are sets that have strong registry competition and/or you are selling the highest graded.

On the N300's there are only 2 working on the PSA registry vs 7 on the SGC registry, imo just more demand for the SGC's. To be open I just had two N300's graded and I picked SGC and both are for resale, I just felt its the right financial choice.

Good luck

Thanks, I understand. But why, in my less than fully expert experience checking prices for, say, t206s and Crackerjacks, do PSA cards tend to draw more value if, as you say, SGCs are favored?

I don't look at pop reports but Ive busted way more cj's from sgc's than psa...probably 3 or 4:1 ratio there...their slabs bust much "cleaner" in my opinion as well...
