I'll be there, sweating it out with other bidders and consignors

...only 8 outbid notices from HA, so far today

Default working on it

We are currently working on the chat room feature on this board to work again after the server move. I think these folks are in Taiwan or something. I just hope to have it done before the last night of REA...that is always the biggest night for the chat room. As stated before I think we had 45+ people in there last year on that night. It was huge fun.

I haven't got any outbid notices yet, so I might be in. When will the chatting start?

from what Leon just posted, looks like we won't be having it for Heritage.

Anyone have another chat area they can hook us up with for tonight?

Don't the Taiwanese know that the Heritage auction ends tonight? Thanks for leaving us hangin' Taiwan.

haha. I taught a class in Taiwan once, and had a blast. I averaged about 6 inches on everyone around me, and looked like a deer in the headlights, but they were really fantastic hosts.

Oh, a chat would have been nice!

I'm standing in a bar across from the nyc metropolitan opera...skipping out on the last act of the last night of Wagner's Ring Cycle (my wife likes opera, not me...too bad this isn't Honus we're talking about) but at least I'm allowed to duck out to make sure I don't get any unfortunate outbid notices...

Have a good night all!
Steve

uhhh...she couldn't talk.

Well, the only items I was able to stay high on were the ones that go to the live auction tomorrow - just a few cool odds and ends.

Simply amazing - all multi-card T206 lots going for retail?

Now I'm just hoping you guys spent all your money on HA and won't have anything left for REA.

I was hoping to sneak away with the lot of 3 W600's including the Eddie Collins. Considering the other two cards add minimal value in their given condition, I guess someone really wants the Collins more than I do or at least has more monetary resources than I do.........Wonder who that is...........

was't me, I would have just been upgrading later. I am a bit shocked at the price and I don't think it's even closed yet.

I'm a fan an regular attendee of the symphony, but not of the opera. Two or three operas I like, but most are too long for me.

Impressive prices all around for the T206s.

SGC 10 BL460 @ 9k w/BP
SGC 30 Willis Uzit @ 7k w/BP

These make my little eBay world brain hurt.

Default Wagner

After the recent "Wagners more common than T206" thread, and seeing it has a PSA pop of 1, I decided to watch the E104-II Wagner.. I amazes me that a card so much more scare than the T206 can fetch so much less. Was the sale price in line with it's relative scarcity?

It always leaves an odd taste with me to see the lots I bid on offered for sale the next morning for the "high bid" plus penalties (NY'ers now get to pay another 8% thanks to HA's spiffy little gallery in Manhatten).

I think they just lost me as a bidder.

I had solid bids in on many of the T206 lots, and came away empty-handed. Now just waiting for the live bidders to let me walk away with a few non-card items.

You get anything?

Scarcity is only a small component of value. There are many reasons a collector might want a T206 Wagner as opposed to an E104-II.

Nothing at all, there was a plan to try for the HOF missing color lot and split it with a few other members but my recent Willis BL pickup killed that plan

Fun to watch all those prices, I was tempted on a few but that BP scarred me away.

I was bidding on a couple near-sets (not T206). I got clobbered - shut out. I thought the prices on those lots were very high...appraoching my estimate of "retail" for the cards in the lot. Someone was spending a lot of coin, I guess.

Cheers,
Blair

By the way, if you haven't done 'Heritage Live' before, you really ought to sign in and watch it (going on now). It's the best virtual auction I've seen.
