Default Anyone planning on attending the PITTSBURGH XXXIV SPRING CLASSIC show

I have not been to a show in about 8 years, I've just recently got back into collecting and after reading about the disaster of the Philly show I wonder what this show has been like over the past couple years, from what I can remember 8-10 years ago it got good attendance.

I will be attending simply because I live about 15 minutes away, anyone else?

I am interested in attending this show. I have never been to a show before. Is there any info on the Internet?

Disaster is overstated. An earthquake is a disaster. It was just a weak show, it happens. It's not going to keep me from going to another show.

Default Twice

I've been to this show twice. First show commemorating 1960 Pirates had a big crowd, last year was pretty weak with a few of the biggest dealers packing up early on Sunday...Prices of course for mid-grade stars, etc. are not good but if you cherry pick some single commons, etc. for sets it is worth making the trip. A couple of pre-war guys. In short, if you live closely it is worth checking it out for sure. A pretty big show, not quite the National, but you get guys from all of the country...Nice location too.

Here are a couple cards I bought at this show:

Plus like I said singles for my 57s 72 75 sets that considering shipping, etc. and be able to pick out cards in person a few ok buys...

Default PITTSBURGH XXXIV SPRING CLASSIS show

The show used to be great. But with the falling prices for cards, it seems to get less and less High Level Vendors with vintage cards. 707 used to come, so did Mr. Mint. I believe both were absent in 2011. There is one vendor with a ton of Roberto Clemente items. I go to support the hobby. The desired items go early -Friday night-Saturday morning. Some vendors clear out Sunday early, so its slim pickings. If your selling, not a lot of vendors buying. JSS will be there I forget which day. They will be in Pgh. on Smithfield st., SPORTS WORLD SPECIALTIES, 645 Smithfield st. I don't know what date but you can call Dan Means at 412-232-3343. I am not attempting to degrade the show, because there is something for everyone to see and buy/sell. Its just not as great as it was a few years ago.
