Default Pictures of my first 3 rescued dogs...and more saves too.

Hello everyone,
I am still quite a ways from having all the legal work being completed etc etc but in the course of contacting rescue shelters, I talked with one in Massachusetts. They try and pull dogs from the high kill shelters in Ga and have them transported to Mass but recently lost their volunteer contact here. So I volunteered to go get the dogs in Cartersville,Ga, take them to a vet in Suwanee ga and to the boarding place in Norcross where they will stay until ready.
Never could imagine how good it would feel to save a dog's life as they were to be killed within the next day---made me think of a religious saying, "he who saves a life saves the world" ( i am an atheist but I like the saying!!). Incredible how friendly and loving these 3 dogs are and how we slaughter them in the kill shelters. Disgusting is a pretty accurate word.

I need a name for the formation of the 501C3 and here are a bunch of names we have narrowed it down to; Please let me know which u like thanks

Save Me Furever Pet Rescue
Safe Haven Pet Rescue
Good Deed Pet Rescue
Corner of Bark and Meow Pet Rescue
Four Paws Pet rescue
Paws and Claws Pet Rescue
Furever Friends Pet Rescue
My Best Friend Pet Rescue

by the way, the 2 dogs in the same pic were both handed over to a kill shelter by their owner--one can tell immediately how they love each other and hopefully will be adopted together--

thanks to everyone for suggestions, offers, etc etc etc

Bill, you can be no religion, or any religion, and it's all the same to the dogs you save. You are their literal savior. Thanks for that!! You know you are doing a great thing and it feels good to save lives of our best friends.

I like "Safe Haven Rescue" for a dog/animal rescue because the name means they will not be killed for no reason and because of pitiful humans.

I hate thinking about this. It hurts my heart, but the fact is that it actually happens. How? I don't know. You are the man for doing what you did. I wish no animals had to be killed ever.

It makes me just about cry now that I have started this cause they are such loving animals and it blows my f+++++ mind when I get them from the shelter how they have been abused and how they were about to be killed. The black and white that Leon posted above you licked my face in the car on the ride from the shelter to the vet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen brother! I've got two rescue dogs. The younger one is a pointer/pix mix that is almost 4. She is the absolute best and most affectionate dog I have ever had and is completely in love with my family. The thought that she might have been put down because her previous owner turned her into a shelter at 7 months defies me. She has brought thousands of blessings into my life.

God bless you and keep up the good work.

Here is a quick update. Bill, (Dr.) Ken McMillan (Kmac32) and I had a con call last night and discussed a few things concerning, what Bill chose as the final name for the rescue, Safe Haven Furever. Us three (there might be one other who wasn't on the call) form the directors of the non profit. Bill is out of country right now and I don't think he will have access until he gets back in a few weeks. He has rescued several more dogs since his last report here. At any rate there are lots of small obstacles to doing what he is doing. Since none of us are necessarily wealthy and have millions to donate to a great cause (Dogs), we are thinking of starting a GoFundMe page for the shelter. Does anyone have any experience with them? I went to the GoFundMe site and it all looks pretty easy....but are there pimples that can't be seen?

in MANY ways, dogs are better than people, and you can count on
my donation once the GoFundMe page link is posted.

Kudos to you for doing this. Dogs truly are man's best friend! I know it's far-fetched, but I'd recommend that you try to reach out to Beth Stern. She is a big help to no-kill animal shelters in the Metro-NY area, and has a passion for it. She also has some deep pockets. Can't hurt to try.

Leon,

Please keep everyone posted with any update about the Fund Me Page. I will be very happy to send a donation. As some may have figured out my NET54 name ( Tobacco Greyhound ) gives away a clue. We have adopted quite a few Greyhounds over the years and many dogs over our lifetime. If anyone ever gets free time please read about Greyhound Dog Racing and how it is well known as CRUELTY To Animals. EVERY Greyhound Dog Race Track needs to be shut down....immediately.

An agency that may be of assistance to your starting up the Go Fund Me page is NGAP in Philadelphia. They are the only Veterinary Clinic in the world that has not only One but Two Biolase Lasers ( Dog Dentistry ). Another in our area is called Justice Rescue.....I honestly believe Justice Rescue can assist you in anything you would like to know. Once you visit their site you and everyone will see what I am talking about.

Again.....My Wife/Family would love to send a Donation.

This quote was sent to us long ago......I hope everyone finds it to be Very True. It is supposed to be an Old Indian Legend:

" When a human dies there is a bridge they must cross to enter into Heaven. At the head of the bridge waits every animal that human encountered during their lifetime. The animals, based on what they know of this person, decide which humans may cross the bridge...and which are turned away. Regards, Tom
