Another upgrade for the backs line. Not in yet, so hoping for the best, but looks pretty nice.

It's a shame SGC downgrades so much for writing on postcard backs, because this is a very clean PC with no creases and nice corners. I like the bleachers in the background and the bats laying at Christy's feet.

We admitted we were powerless over our addiction to cardboard - that our lives had become unmanageable.

(Mastro, are the cards in the mail?)

Holy Moses! Vintage cards, scantily-clad Polynesian maidens, plenty penguins, authentic Dutch people and more.

Mike P.....

I cannot express enough how AWESOME I think that matty postcard is!
WOW!

And.... I agree... the bleachers in the background and the bats at Matty's feet add to it being such a cool piece.

Don't worry about the SGC number.... its just a technical grade / and is meaningless in valuing this card. It looks great in the holder - - many of my favorite SGC items are slabbed as an "A".

Joe D,

Thanks for the compliment.

I sense that you are considering trading your Astoria Giants PC for the Matty? Tell me I'm right...you know I'm kidding, the Astoria PC is one of my all-time favorites. I just liked the Matty I purchased because I haven't seen another one. It was either that or a PC796 and I picked the RPPC.

That McGraw Rotograph is a beauty. I know Jeff will be envious but will be glad it went to a Net54 memeber.

BTW that O'Doul with the April 1, 1936 coupon expiration date is a 1935.

No pickups here yet sad.gif

Love that HUGE Senators insert Joe D. What is on the back side? It looks like it might have been in the middle of a program, like you said..

It's a standard size cabinet photo...looks odd though because the photo extends down further than most cabinet photos do. I also got three other photos along with this one of two of the fellows that appear in the baseball photo.

Nice postcard there btw. happy.gif

Mike P... I couldn't trade the astoria for that card. those two cards belong together wink.gif a trade would be counter-productive to the balance of the cosmos. Hey, I've got an idea...... wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif

Marty - the back is blank. I will probably bring it to a good framing guy and put it on my wall.

Jeff L. - - (edited out humor attempt)

Clint.... you da' man. That is a very cool postcard. I've got to get back into team RPPCs.

Pete, be thankful you're not a consignor. The mail has been especially slow when it comes to envelopes with checks inside. Even slower than those with cards inside.

ebay pickup. A Greenville born boy, played 8 years in the majors and then managed the infamous Greenville Spinners and also was an ump in the textile league. passed away in 1965 and I even located his gravesite(but sadly no mention of his baseball past on the headstone)
