Default Mastronet auction Yikes

Came back from Hawaii, catching up on threads about the auctions...went to register at Mastronet because I'm interested in a few items, and there's a registration fee of $75!!! I had read that somewhere but totally forgot about it so I my mouth dropped. Hoping it'll be worth it in a couple weeks.

(P.S. If you know what I want and you also gotta have them please give me a warning )

Also I really love the VG Cobb but with the last e94 Newsboy Wagner(good) receiving $5k+ this latest one should zoom out of my price range pretty fast.

Believe that if you'vce bid in a
Mastro auction in the last year, you're all ser, and your bidder numebr will be on your catalogue when it arrives (mine's scheduled to get here the 30th of November--pretty late, if you ask me!). If you have bid--not won, just bid, in an auction in the last year, you should be set.

But I've gotten postcards from time to time saying, in effect, that since I haven't bid in an auction "actively" (for a year) I have to pay some outrageous fee for the catalogue. But when I get in touch with them, they always say "That's a mistake; your catalogue is on the way." It's VERY annoying!

If they're now charging $75 dollars (see, that's what a year's "subscription" to the sports catalogues is; that's why I think it's a mistake) to everyone just to bid--I'm sorry, count me out!

Lipset seems to be permanently mad at me for some reason.

'Boy', there's no seat. Just tell them you know me, and they'll charge you $100

I don't know, but I would think that the $75 is to receive the phyical catalogs. I wouldn't think you would have to pay just to register and bid online. Though, perhaps I'm wrong. Someone from MastroNet may offer correct info here. I never asked for a catalog, so must have bid online first.

I beleive the story is that if you were a bidder, you will get a catalog for free.

Does anyone know of how many Wagner Newsboys exist?? Does anyone on the board have one? Perhaps they are more scarce than the T206 Wagner?!?! That one in the last Mastro auction is the first I have ever seen.

If I were a betting person I would think it a safe bet to say there are far fewer Baltimore News Newsboy Wagner's than his famous T206 counterpart. I would also bet there are quite a few other Wagner cards that are scarcer than the T206 too. ie.. E125 batting or throwing, probably E104-II, e286 Ju Ju Drums etc....if I had to guess I would say there are less than 10 known of the Baltimore News variations, and I have only seen the one in the Mastro...also fyi, I do have a Mcgraw and a common of that series.......best regards
