Ok, I know. They've been seen before.
Still, they're my favorites, and I'll use any excuse...

1927 Yankees team-signed, game-used, ball:

Signed during the 1928 WS in St. Louis:

1925 Pirates reunion ball, signed by members of the 1901 and 1925 Championship teams:

And, finally, the game ball from Yankees-Athletics April 25, 1912 at Hilltop Park. Inscribed by winning pitcher Chief Bender:

Tough job to follow what's already posted, but here goes. I showed this once before, but it's my favorite...

Signed at the 1955 HOF induction...

I have posted this one or two times but its my favorite item and it will never leave me. 1926 yankee team signed baseball with Ruth, Gehrig, Lazzeri and a very faded Miller Huggins.

"Richard- please email me Re: Ruth/Root Ball. thanks."

Email sent.

David, those first two balls are breathtaking. I love the thick black fountain ink on the team signed ball and the Ruth is spectacular.

Richard, I did not buy that ball from you. It came to me directly from a former Red Sox scout who had it signed himself in '55.

He had either 1 or 2 other identical balls to the one I have, and I'm not sure what happened to them, but I'm guessing one of them found its way into your hands!

Let me preface this by saying I am happily married with three beautiful children. With that said, you gentlemen have some of the finest balls I have ever seen. David specifically, incredible!!!

While they pale in comparison to some, here are my favorite balls.

1964 Pirates (sentimental-my first Clemente signed ball):

1957 Pirates:

1959 Pirates:

1960 Pirates (WS Champs!!):

Another favorite I don't have a scan of is my 1956 Cincy Reds w/ Frank Robinson rookie year sig.

Thanks for sharing,

Mike

Thanks Brock,

Clemente has always been my favorite post-war player. There always seems to be a few team signed balls on e-bay if you're not super picky. I picked up the 1960 ball on e-bay 4-5 years ago for just a little over $300. The signatures have bled a bit, but I figured I wasn't going to find a 1960 ball for any cheaper. His cut (authenticated) sigs have seemed to bring big bucks lately on e-bay. I think I've seen some recently sell for over $1000. Kind of tempts me to take my signed index cards and have them graded, but naaaahhh...they just wouldn't look as nice.

Good luck in your search, I'm sure you will find a decent example with a little patience.

Mike

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
I got incredibly lucky with that 1927 ball. First, I obtained it years ago, before prices went absolutely nuts. And it was in an auction venue that, at the time, was known for cards rather than memorabilia, so I was not competing against many bidders, and, thankfully, none with really deep pockets.

David,
Have you ever thought of making a museum or display to show your items off to the public. I would pay to see some of your items.

Those are some great baseballs that everyone has posted!

David, those are great!

I'm mainly a bat guy so I don't have a lot of baseballs, but this is one of my favorites. 1880's silver baseball.

Ryan had signed and personalized a ball for me that I got from a cousin who worked at Bristol-Myers, which he inscribed "to Adam, best wishes." In 2005, a client I was representing on some real estate deals who was a Brooklyn expatriate and who was a FOS (Friend Of Sandy) told me that Koufax was coming to LA for the 50th anniversary of the 1955 championship and that he would have Koufax sign something for me if I wanted. I asked him to have Koufax sign the Ryan ball with the same personalized inscription as Ryan used. When he gave Koufax the ball, my client told me that Koufax looked it over and said "Why the f**k would I want to be on a ball with Ryan?" He was joking of course and inscribed and signed it for me.

Gents;

I dont have a picture, but my favorite ball, better than the 60 Pirates with 2 Clementes, better than the 36 Yankees with rookie DiMaggio, is one from the 1953 St. Louis Browns, signed by:

Marty Marion, the manager, and now the oldest living ex-Cardinal;

Clint (Scrap Iron) Courtney, by reputation the first catcher to wear glasses;

Bob (Sugar) Cain, who pitched to Veecks midget Eddie Gaedel;

Vic Wertz, who, in the 54 series, hit the ball that Willie Mays turned into The Catch;

Dick Kryhoski and Jim Dyck, who, with Courtney, hit the only back-to-back-to-back homers in Brownies history;

Johnny Groth, the next DiMaggio, who in 1950 hit .306 in 157 games for the Tigers, and never came close again;

and some guy named Paige. I think he was a pitcher.

Bob

I owned this ball for about 2 yrs before selling. Got it directly from the daughter of a SS agent who was assigned as body guard for several Presidents.

Wow, there are some incredible balls on here! I'd be proud to have any of them in my collection.

Compared to the rest on this thread my favorite is not in the same class, but I'm very happy to own it.

That is a great Yankees ball, but doesn't the Hank Johnson preclude it from being a true 1927?

That's Herb Pennock (signed "H.J. Pennock"), not Hank Johnson.

The ball was signed by both Dutch Ruether and Wilcy Moore. 1927 was Ruether's last year, and Moore's first.

Additionally, it's a Ban Johnson ball. 1927 was the last year for them.

There's no doubt it's a '27 ball.
