Default Need help dating/researching old timers game

Hello all!

I recently purchased an anniversary/old-timers ball signed by several members of the 1924 Giants and 1924 Senators. Per the seller, it is from the early 50's. I have tried to google various keywords but so far all I have been able to come up with is a photo from the day (from an old Mears auction), but have not been able to determine the date, location, who played, and any dignitaries in attendance. I know some of you are whiz's when it comes to baseball history/research...so any help/info you can throw at me is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Might be the July 27, 1964 Hall of Fame Game at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown; Washington Senators v. New York Mets. Perhaps the 40th anniversary celebration. Just a guess, great baseball.

Thanks for chiming in Ty! I dont believe that the game was 1964 as Muddy Ruel was gone in 1963. My apologies for not listing some of the names...

Billy Southworth
Travis Jackson
George Kelly
Jack Bentley
Frank Frisch
Hank Gowdy
Irish Meusel
Freddy Lindstrom
Al Schact
Bill Terry
Muddy Ruel
Earl McNeely
1 additional signature I am still trying to determine

This game was in 1951, August I think, at Griffith Stadium, a "recreation" of the 1924 World Series with just about everybody from the Senators and Giants who was still around. Hope this helps.

That was just the info I needed to put me over the top. I found the below article via google. Thank you Ty & Hank!

I wonder how long poor Jack Bentley and Earl McNeely had to pitch/swing the bat until they were able to "achieve" the desired bad hop over Lindstrom...
